County Magistrate Lin appreciates 23 consecutive years of charity work by Fo Guang Shan, January 9
On the 9th, County Magistrate Lin Ming-Chen attended the 2021 Fo Guang Shan Joint Year-end Winter Charity event at the activity center of Jiji Junior High School in Jiji Township. Lin wished people there a happy Lunar New Year and presented the certificate of appreciation to Qing-De Temple in Nantou, Fo Guang Shan Compassion Foundation and the Dist. 300C1 Southeast Lions Clubs International for their kind deeds of coordinating all walks of life to give supplies to disadvantaged families in the winter season. County Magistrate Lin encourages everyone to do the same and care for the disadvantaged with kindness, so that they can get through the winter and have a good year.
The event was presided over by Chen Pi-Yueh, the Executive Director of Fo Guang Shan Compassion Foundation, Central Region. Chang Chi-Mao, the president of Dist. 300C1 Southeast Lions Clubs International and members of the club attended the event, as well as County Councilor Chen Shu-Hui. Master Hui-Lung, the abbot of Qing-De Temple, kicked off the event by lighting the lamp to offer blessings. County Magistrate Lin presented allowances and supplies to the representative of the disadvantaged in person and presented the certificate of appreciation to the organizations that jointly donate supplies one by one. The event was grand and heartwarming.
County Magistrate says Fo Guang Shan works with Dist. 300C1 Southeast Lions Clubs International to organize the Year-end Winter Charity event in Jiji Township every year. With the allowances and supplies, the disadvantaged families in Jiji and Shuili Township can have a good year. Fo Guang Shan and Dist. 300C1 Southeast Lions Clubs International have been doing such charity work for 23 consecutive years, which is really admirable.
