The Nantou County Administration Building Addition and Improvement Project will begin on April 15, 2022. On the 8th, County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen led Deputy County Magistrate Chen Cheng-sheng, Secretary-General Hung Jui-chih, heads of various bureaus, contractors, and architects to carry out a blessing ceremony and pray for a successful project at the entrance of the county government. In addition, Lin assured that services provided by the county government will not be affected by the construction. It is suggested that people follow direction signs when entering and leaving to ensure safety. To move with the times, the county government provides more services and improves functionality. However, there has been less space left for various bureaus to utilize. In order to improve the work environment and provide more working space, the county government has raised about NT$ 150 million for the Nantou County Administration Building Addition and Improvement Project. County Magistrate Lin said that the Nantou Administration Building has been in use for more than 20 years since the Chi-Chi earthquake. Apart from the fact that there’s little space left for the Education Department to utilize, the Election Commission and the Industrial & Investment Promotion Committee also have to use other units’ work space, and the Health Bureau and the Social and Labor Affairs Department also need more work space due to the increase in business. After the project, all of these can be improved. In addition, the green energy and power saving policies are to be implemented through solar panel installation. It will be more convenient for the public to use the services after completing the project. The construction period is about 360 calendar days, which will be divided into two stages. The first stage is mainly for the addition construction of the Education Department on the 7th floor, adding work space to the original crowded environment. During the construction period, the temporary office of the Education Department will be in the auditorium in B2, and the service phone numbers and extension numbers will remain unchanged. The second stage is for the improvement of the driveway and garden in front of the Nantou County Government Administration Building and the construction of an additional floor for buildings B and C. In addition to adding parking spaces and work space of the building, solar panels will be installed on the roof to generate electricity, which is environmentally friendly and economical.
