On the 22nd, Yeh Yi-chin, a member of the Control Yuan, visited Nantou. Accompanied by Deputy County Magistrate Chen Cheng-sheng, Yeh went to the Zhushan Township Office to address public complaints. A total of five cases were addressed, most of which were issues such as compensation for expropriation of existing roads or private land. Among these cases, there was a direct response from the member of the Control Yuan for the issue of insufficient time announced for the relocation of Zhushan First Public Cemetery. After the negotiation with the Township Office, the time will be extended for another three months to give people more time. Deputy County Magistrate Chen said that during the visit to Zhushan Township for a routine inspection, the member of the Control Yuan put emphasis on the implementation of the Waste Disposal and Green Energy Sustainability Center Project and the Nantou Taiji Splendor Land Project, and listened to the public’s complaints. Yeh listens patiently to the opinions of the public and actively seeks solutions. Lin appreciates Yeh for her concern and advice to the county. Yeh also listened to the briefings by the Environmental Protection Bureau and the Tourism Bureau on the implementation of Nanto’s Waste Disposal and Green Energy Sustainability Center Project and the Nantou Taiji Splendor Land Project. Yeh expressed her affirmation and expectation for the future planning and operation under a BOT contract, but she also reminded the county government that the local communities should be fully aware of the plans through communication and explanation, so as to decrease public opposition.
