The construction of the Zhushan Water Recycle Center began in March this year; however, it hasn’t been decided whether or not to include the Zhushan industrial district’s wastewater in the sewage treatment. On the 13th, County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen and Legislator Hsu Shu-hua went to the Nantou County Government to discuss the issue, with the participation of the relevant units and businesses. After the discussion, it was decided to include the industrial district’s wastewater in the sewage treatment through special pipe lines and treat the domestic sewage and industrial sewage, separately. County Magistrate Lin also agreed that the Nantou County Government will be in charge of the operations, maintenance and management of the water recycling center. The county government invited the Construction and Planning Agency and its central region office, the Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA, industrial park service centers, the Zhushan Industrial Park Manufacturers Association, the Manufacturers United General Associations of Industrial Parks of R.O.C and other units to discuss the issue, with the participation of more than 30 representatives. After discussing the issue from various aspects and expressing ideas, all attendees agreed to transport the industrial district’s wastewater to the water recycle center for sewage treatment through special pipe lines. In addition, facilities for chemical coagulation and precipitation will be built next to the phase 2 construction land in order to treat industrial district’s wastewater before transporting to the water recycle center and treat the domestic sewage and industrial sewage separately. The total expenditure for building pipe lines and wastewater treatment systems is about NT$ 31.45 million, which will be raised by the Industrial Development Bureau under the Forward-looking Infrastructure Development Program. County Magistrate Lin said that a consensus was reached after discussions with all parties, that is, to use special pipe lines rather than using the same one, making it feasible to treat the industrial sewage and domestic sewage separately and make it easier to control the quality and quantity of the water, as well as being more specific about the detection of abnormal water quality and the follow-up tracking and control.
