On the 30th, Nantou County Government held the Nantou County 921 Affordable Housing-2020 Transfer/Sale Project Handover Ceremony. The handover was completed with written records for 6 houses, including 5 houses in Qiedong community, Nantou County and 1 house in Hongyao community, Caotun Township. Witnesses by County Councilor Chang Chia-che and Chairman Chen Hsiu-chu of the Nantou Land Administration Agent Guild, County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen presented the certificate of landownership to the buyers, who were victims of the great earthquake of September 21. The residents’ dreams have finally come true. County Magistrate Lin said that it has been over 20 years since the great earthquake of September 21. Residents living in the affordable houses for a long period are mostly the financially disadvantaged groups. Knowing their unfavorable situation, the county government leased the houses to the victims in a rent-to-own approach. The most favorable price is offered by adding current property value with salvage value and subtracting the rent paid over the years. On average, a house can be purchased with only some NT$ 1 million. With the county government’s kindness, it’s hoped that residents will live happier. The transfer/sale projects of this period include 4 houses in Beimei community, 11 houses in Nanguang community, Puli Township, 5 houses in Qiedong community, Nantou County and 1 house in Hongyao community, Caotun Township. The handover for houses in Beimei and Nanguang communities was completed with written records on April 29.
