Qiao-Song-Yun-Tian Greenery Sculpture Park grandly opens with parent-child event “Butterfly Fantasy Park,” June 3
After three years of construction, with an investment of more than NTD 30 million, the Qiao-Song-Yun-Tian Greenery Sculpture Park was successfully built in June. The park is located under the Guoxin Interchange. A parent-child event "Butterfly Fantasy Park" will be held for three consecutive weekends, starting from the Dragon Boat Festival. On the 3rd, County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen presided over the opening ceremony, with the participation of Legislator Ma Wen-chun, Deputy Director Su Ying-hao of the Central Region Branch Office, Freeway Bureau, MOTC, County council members Lin Fang Yu, Chen Yi-chun, Yeh Jen-chuang, Deputy County Magistrate Chen Cheng-sheng, Guoxin Township Mayor Chiu Pu-sheng, Executive Secretary Tseng Ming-jui of the Nantou County Farmers Association, and Chairman Hu Shui-fa of the Guoxin Township Farmers Association. The event attracted many families to visit and sign up for parent-child activities, creating a heartwarming and joyful atmosphere in the park.
County Magistrate Lin said that the residents of Guoxin Township expressed an opinion five years ago that they wish to make Qiao-Song-Yun-Tian a local highlight, which ranked first in the eight most beautiful highway scenery, to help smallholder farmers promote their quality local agricultural products. As such, the Nantou County Government started to proceed with the plan by obtaining approval from the Freeway Bureau, MOTC and raising more than NTD 30 million on its own to build the Qiao-Song-Yun-Tian Greenery Sculpture Park three years ago. Now, the park has certain facilities, surrounded with green plants, along with the magnificent view of Qiao-Song-Yun-Tian, making the place a popular spot for checking in and taking photos. To match up with the theme of the butterfly season, the county government organized a parent-child event "Butterfly Fantasy Park." With the dreamlike butterfly tunnel of the park, large installation artworks of butterfly wings, ecology, landscape, a smallholder farmers market, free air cushion facilities and playground equipment that children love the most, and DIY activities, families can have a pleasant and fulfilling vacation. However, the county government hasn’t obtained approval from the Freeway Bureau for setting up a smallholder farmers market that aims to help farmers with their marketing. The county government will continue to strive for it, so that local smallholder farmers can also benefit from tourism.
