To promote tourism development in Shuili Township, County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen, Legislator Hsu Shu-hua, County council member Hsiao Chih-chuan, Director Chen Chin-che of the Nantou Office, Central Region Branch, National Property Administration, MOF, Director Chen Chih-hsien of the Tourism Bureau, Director Lin Jung-sen of the Cultural Bureau, and Director Huang Yung-chih of the Police Bureau, Nantou County Government, went to the old Shuili Police Station to conduct an inspection on the 8th. The Nantou County Government aims to redevelop the place through land exchange and create a new tourism and creative highlight near the Shuili Train Station. County Magistrate Lin said the inspection was conducted at the old Shuili Police Station near Shuili Train Station, which is the most upmarket and popular area in Shuili Township. The place, where the Shuili Police Station was located, has not been used for over twenty years. It’ll have a positive impact on the city landscape if the development work is carried out. The county government hopes to reach a land exchange agreement with the National Property Administration and proceed with the reconstruction work, so that the space can be utilized effectively to promote the development in Shuili. Legislator Hsu Shu-hua said the old police station has been left unused for a long time. The county government and the National Property Administration agree to exchange land for utilization. As some traces of the Japanese occupation of Taiwan remain at the old police station, it is suggested to include old-fashioned elements, which would be very helpful for tourism development in Shuili. As such, Hsu hopes that the county government can proceed with the project as soon as possible.
