County Magistrate Lin shows appreciation to reservists at Chenggongling, June 23
On the 23rd, County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen and Wei Chih-min, the head of the Nantou Military Service Station, went to the Chenggongling military training camp to show appreciation to 518 reservists, who are the second batch of the reservist program conducted by the Nantou Reserve Command. County Magistrate Lin presented bonus money, which was received by the commander Chen Chien-feng of the Nantou Reserve Command on behalf. Lin also presented small gifts to reservists for their hard work and a representative of the reservists received it on their behalf. Commander Chen also presented a certificate of appreciation in return. The scene was heartwarming.
Lin said he has half a year left before leaving office. With Nantou residents’ support over the past seven years, the county government’s programs have been completed pragmatically, including free lunch programs, infrastructure improvement and the development of industrial parks and hot springs, bringing a great deal of money to the county’s coffers, as well as creating business and job opportunities. In addition, in response to the young generation’s opinions, the county government actively boosts business investment to create job opportunities, provides comprehensive early childhood education and childcare to ease young people’s burden of taking care of their children, and promotes social housing programs for young people to ease their burden of buying their own house and encouraging them to work at their hometown. In the second batch of the reservist program, 518 reservists temporarily leave their family and jobs to focus on professional training and perform their national duty, which is admirable.
