On the 17th, the first pet park in Nantou County was opened in Caotun Township. County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen went to the park to celebrate its opening. Lin also strongly affirmed the comprehensiveness and efficiency of the mayor Chien Ching-hsien’s administration. Lin said that the pet park in Caotun Township is worth promoting throughout the county. The Caotun Township Office attaches great importance to fur babies, whereas the Nantou County Government pays more attention to adults and children. With a cost of NT$ 50 million to build, the Caotun Parent-Child Inclusive Park near the Caotun Pet Park will also be completed and opened by the end of the year.
County Magistrate Lin said that the first pet park in Nantou County built thoughtfully by the Caotun Township Office will definitely be very popular among pet owners. The pet park is located behind the Caotun Performing Arts Center. The holiday movie theater of the Caotun Performing Arts Center jointly built by the county government and the township office will also open soon. More importantly, after the parent-child inclusive ecological park, renovated from the Mingjian Nursery, has gained in great popularity, the Nantou County Government has further invested NT$ 50 million to build the Caotun Parent-Child Park, which covers an area of 3.7 hectares and is right next to the pet park. The Caotun Parent-Child Inclusive Park will be completed and opened at the end of the year. With a new and larger parent-child inclusive park in Caotun Township, there will not only be more places for fur babies to play in, but also for children and adults to relax and have fun.
Chien Ching-hsien, mayor of Caotun Township, said that the Caotun Pet Park is the first pet park in Nantou and the second in Taiwan. The township office raised NT$ 1 million by itself to transform the old roller rink and set up spring poles, tunnel cement pipes, arched bridges and large ball pools for fur babies to play around in, along with washbasins and fences for protection. In addition, the cement floor is covered with artificial turf, which was generously donated by Kung Long Batteries Industries, so that fur babies won’t suffer from burning feet while running and jumping in the sun.
