On the 24th, a grand ribbon cutting ceremony of the visitor center of JOJOZOO PARK in Caotun Township, Nantou County, which was built with NT$ 2 billion and took over 8 years to construct, was held. The ceremony was presided over by Chairman Yu Chia-fu, with the participation of County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen, Legislators Hsu Shu-hua and Ma Wen-chun, Speaker He Sheng-feng, Caotun Township Mayor Chien Ching-hsien, Directors Hsueh Hsiang-chuan and Liao Hsueh-hui and the consortium of banks. Chairman Yu invited County Magistrate Lin and the distinguished guests to cut the ribbon together for this white visitor center with the theme of “Bird of Paradise.” The ribbon cutting ceremony was grand, with more than 5,000 visitors attending. In the speech by County Magistrate Lin, he said that he hopes once the helium balloon in JOJOZOO PARK is completed, it would be able to echo with the park, creating a tourism boost in the Wuxi Line through public-private collaboration and fostering local prosperity. County Magistrate Lin said that since taking office, he’s been dedicated to making Nantou a tourism capital. In addition to improving local infrastructure and building a sound traffic network, he has also put efforts in the establishment of tourism facilities with the unique concept of each township to create opportunities for local prosperity. The Qingjing High-altitude Trail in Ren’ai, Shuanglong Waterfall Rainbow Suspension Bridge in Xinyi, Zhushan Sky Ladder and Ruilong Waterfall, Puli Fuxing Hot Spring Area, Qiao-Song-Yun-Tian Greenery Sculpture Park under the Guoxing Bridge and so on, are all popular scenic tourist spots that foster local prosperity. In response to the county’s tourism capital policy, Chairman Yu has spent 8 years building the largest animal park in Asia. Its scale and content are not inferior to Singapore’s Jurong Bird Park. The park has also set a new milestone for the tourism industry of the Wuxi Line and added a new highlight to the tourism capital. In the future, once the helium balloon of the 20-hectare that jointly planned by JOJOZOO PARK and the county government is completed, it will surely create another tourism boost.
