On the 26th, Nantou County’s 2022 military joint air-raid drill “Wan-an No. 45” started after the alarm was issued. People followed necessary measures concerning evacuation, traffic lights and sounds. Wang Kuo-chiang, deputy chief inspector of the Central Command and deputy chief of the naval staff, who’s in charge of Nantou’s supervision and inspection, strongly affirmed the efforts of the Nantou police and citizens in preparing and conducting the drill and awarded the drill units with prizes. County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen also accompanied the inspector to oversee traffic control and evacuation drills. Lin appreciated the public for their cooperation and also gave special thanks to the Nantou City Office and other units for conducting the drill seriously. “Have you been vaccinated? Were you nervous?” On the 26th, after the Wan’an drill started, County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen led Director Huang Yung-chih of the Nantou Police Bureau and Director Wu Yen-ling of the Civil Affairs Bureau to accompany the deputy chief inspector Wang and the police evaluation officer Yang Chia-pao to conduct an inspection at the air raid shelter on the first basement of the Nantou City Office. Seeing the personnel conducting a medical station drill and offering services to patients, they kindly appreciated their hard work. The Wan’an No. 45 drill in Nantou was carried out in the afternoon of the 26th. County Magistrate Lin and the deputy chief inspector Wang first listened to the drill briefing by the Civil Defense Control Center, Nantou Police Bureau and then conducted an inspection on the air defense intelligence transmission and alarm issuance. County Magistrate Lin also noticed that there was an antique, old-fashioned bronze alarm bell, saying that air raid drills are held every year and everyone should take it seriously, so that in the event of an emergency, we’ll be able to respond and take refuge, and the damage will be reduced to a minimum.
