The completion of the first Day Care Center and Assembly Multifunctional Building in Chichi, October 17
“After retirement, I am now old. It is nice to enjoy the service of Chichi Day-care Center and teach my old friends how to dance.” The first “Day Care Center and Assembly Multifunctional Building” at Bazhang, Chichi was launched into operation with the expectations of county residents on the 17th. Hosting the ceremony, County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen expressed happily, this Day Care Center and Assembly Multifunctional Building is practical as well as beautiful, witnessing the coverage rate of 97%, ranking second in the country in day care services. He hopes that the old friends in the hometown can stay healthy and keep happy, waiting for him to enjoy the high quality day care services when he retires, living happily in old age together.

The inauguration ceremony of the Day Care Center and Assembly Multifunctional Building was held in the morning of the 16th. The ceremony was opened with the performance of Taiko ensemble of the Parents’ Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability, Nantou County. Those in attendance included County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen, Legislator Hsu Shu-hua, Director-General Chu Chien-fang of the Department of Long-Term Care, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Director Lin Chih-chung of Department of Social and Labor Affairs, Director Chen Nan-sung of the Health Bureau, Director Wu Yen-ling of the Department of Public Affairs, County Councilors Chen Shu-hui, Hsieh Ming-mou, Wang Chiu-shu, township councilors, village chiefs and residents of Chichi to celebrate the memorable moment.

County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen pointed out that, the most difficult issue for the construction of the Day Care Center and Assembly Multifunctional Building was the acquisition of land. With the support of Director Chen Yung-chi and board directors of Wuchang Temple, the Nantou County Government approved the transformation of the farmland by Wuchang Temple into a piece of land with religious purpose in accordance with the law. It also obtained the 2,295m2 of donated land simultaneously. In addition to the funds amounted NT$22.851 million and raised by the county government, it also obtained the grants of NT$ 21.149 million from the Ministry of Health and Welfare to achieve the sum of NT$ 44 million. The multifunctional building has the total floor area of 1023.34m2, with 1F as the Assembly Hall, 2F as the Day Care Center, and 3F as the small-scale multifunctional center.
