The Nantou County Government is going to build the first “helium balloon experience center” theme park in Taiwan innovatively. On October 28, hosted by County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen, the commencement ceremony was held at the Caotun Jiujiu Feng Eco-Art Park. It is hoped to integrate local ecological resources with the 4 core themes and 7 exhibition halls to create a diverse and multifunctional entertainment park, with the functions of sightseeing, leisure, ecological education, art and literary promotion, and more. In the future, it will be merged with bird garden, botanical garden, Caotun handicraft zone, etc. in the neighborhood. It will revive the economic bloom of Caotun and Zhong-Tan Tourism Axis at Provincial Highway 14. County Magistrate Lin expressed that, to revive the greater Caotun area and the tourism axis along Zhongtan Highway, since his inauguration, he has been active in the planning of the development of the Caotun Jiujiu Feng Eco-Art Park. With the advice and support from local sources, the construction of the Caotun Jiujiu Feng Eco-Art Park finally began. In the park, there are new designs and plans – such as the first “helium balloon park” in Taiwan. Visitors can experience 360 degrees of high-altitude scenery watching, overlooking the magnificent views of Wu River and Taichung Basin. It is believed that it will attract visitors, boosting the economic development of the Caotun area effectively. The groundbreaking ceremony began with the drum performance and lion dance of the Shengyi Lion Dance Troupe. Director Chen Chih-hsien of the Department of Tourism, Nantou County Government also attended the ceremony to present on the development construction of the park. Later, County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen, Legislator Hsu Shu-hua, County Councilors Chien Tzu-sheng, Tang hsiao-fen, Chien Chun-ting as well as other guests burnt incense sticks to pray for the smooth commencement of the construction and groundbreaking ceremony. They unveiled the stone plate the “Jiujiufeng Helium Balloon Theme Park” together and planted a black pine tree together with spades in their hands as commemoration.
