The county government plans to build a youth housing with 37 units in the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute (NTCRI). County Mayor Hsu ShuHua accepted the suggestion made by the county councilors to increase the number of housing units. She will not only consider adjusting the unit size, but also look for suitable location which is capable to build more housing units. In addition, the building lot for Caotun Civil Sports Center will be relocated to the land next to the Caotun Inclusive Park. The county government will make the consulting company complete the initial report within two months. On the 23rd, County Mayor Hsu ShuHua, accompanied by Deputy County Mayor Wang RuiDe and others, invited Chief of Caotun Township Jian JingXian and county councilors elected by residents of Caotun Township to conduct a site survey in NTCRI, where they listened to the presentation about the construction of inclusive park and had insight into the planning of Caotun Youth Housing. Chen XiQing, Deputy Director of Department of Economic Affairs of Nantou County, pointed out in the presentation that the Caotun Youth Housing will be located next to the NTCRI, with an area of about 1,590 square meters. It is the residential area in Caotun urban planning. The construction planning is to build the youth housing with 7 floors above ground and 2 floors underground. If only 3 bedroom houses are included, there will be 6 units on each floor and each unit will be about 120 square meters, resulting of a total of 37 units and 52 parking spaces included. More units will be possible if 2 bedroom houses are also included. All of the Caotun county councilors presented today, and all of them expected to increase the amount of housing units. “The councilors affirmed the direction of the county government in building youth housing, but believed that the amount of housing units planned to be built was slightly insufficient. The county government is willing to accept this suggestion, hoping to find a suitable location to build more units.” said County Mayor Hsu ShuHua. In the other hand, the county government is planning to build a civil sports center within Nantou Shiuhkuang Senior High School. However, the councilors and the public suggested separating it from the school so that it can be fully utilized in the future. After site survey, County Mayor Hsu, the chief of Caotun Township and all the councilors presented were on the same page. They believed that the land with an area of 1.6 hectares next to the Caotun Inclusive Park is suitable for setting up a civil sports center. In this way, together with Caotun Inclusive Park and Caotun Swimming Pool, it will result in the best utilization of Caotun Civil Sports Center in the future.
