Nantou tea fragrance in China! The 15th "West Lake, Sun Moon Lake" Two Lakes Forum was held in Hangzhou on July 17th. Nantou County Mayor Hsu ShuHua led renowned figures from agriculture, education and cultural fields in Nantou to participate in discussions and exchanges. In the forum, she was busy identifying market opportunities for Nantou's agricultural products and eventually successfully won the orders with a total amount of NT$1,025 millions. The first batch of orders of NT$400 millions was successfully signed under the witness of all parties in the forum. The sales amount far exceeded that of the Nantou Global Tea Expo. More than 300 people participated in the Two Lakes Forum. Fortunately, good news about Nantou tea export came out after the opening ceremony! Zeng MingRui, director-general of the Nantou County Farmers' Association, signed 2 tea contracts worth a total of NT$400 millions under the witness of County Mayor Hsu ShuHua and Hangzhou Mayor Yao GaoYuan and other important guests. Among which, one was NT$200 millions with Hangzhou Efuton Tea Co.,LTD while the other order was NT$200 millions with Mactech Corporaion. This was the largest tea sale between the two sides of the strait in recent years, which made the attended Nantou youth farmers and the representatives of farmers' associations over the moon. After that, the county mayor and the team went to Huzhou and Ningbo to continue the promotion of Nantou tea. It was estimated that another orders with a total of NT$625 millions would be won, and the total contracted amount of this trip would exceed NT$1 billion. County Mayor Hsu ShuHua expressed in her speech that the 15-year-long Two Lakes Forum is the best example of cross-strait city exchanges, where both Hangzhou and Nantou have been went full steam ahead with the physical cross-strait exchanges in various fields such as education, culture, environmental protection, agriculture, health and tourism based on the principle of mutual trust, mutual benefit and reciprocity. This year, the theme of the forum is "Tea Industry and Welfare." Therefore, expanding the market of Nantou tea to China is the most important and joyful thing for Nantou farmers. At the first stop in Hangzhou, in addition to signing a large order of NT$400 millions, in-depth discussions were held on issues not only regarding to Nantou tea sales in China, such as the tea origin mechanism, joint identification, promotion and grading, but also on the extension of Nantou center building for Hangzhou Tea. Nantou tea is well known and preferred by tea lovers. The county mayor is happy to be the spokesperson of Nantou's agricultural products to open up a larger market. In addition to the NT$400 million order signed in Hangzhou, County Mayor Hsu and her team also signed NT$580 million and NT$45 million contracts in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, and Ningbo, Shanghai, respectively, selling over NT$1 billion of Nantou's agricultural products to China.
