Nantou Chocoffee Festival Draws Over 470,000 Visitors in Two Weeks. Jun 8th

The 2025 Nantou Chocoffee Festival kicked off in celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival, attracting travelers from across Taiwan. The 10-day event concluded on the evening of June 8th at the Puli Fuxing Hot Spring Park, drawing an impressive crowd of more than 470,000 visitors—a powerful testament to the allure of Nantou’s coffee and chocolate.

Riding the wave of holiday tourism during the Dragon Boat Festival, the festival launched its first two days with two large-scale thousand-person events – Coffee Fun (豆留好咖) and the Starry Night Concert. The concert culminated in a dazzling drone performance featuring the beloved cartoon character "Bugcat Capoo (貓貓蟲咖波)," lighting up the night sky after a spectacular fireworks display and delivering the festival’s first wave of surprise and delight.

On June 1st, a thousand-person DIY activity with the theme “Rural Children’s Picnic” engaged the public in crafting coffee grounds planters. Sponsored and organized by the Nantou Branch of the Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation Agency, the activity promoted resource recycling and environmental awareness through hands-on participation.

The festival peaked on June 7th with a series of exciting activities. The morning featured a French Pastry x Champion Coffee tasting experience, followed in the afternoon by the Thousands People Pour-Over Coffee activity and the eagerly anticipated 2025 Nantou County Coffee Evaluation, showcasing flavor craftsmanship and professional excellence. Evening festivities continued with a high-energy music concert, culminating in another dazzling drone and fireworks performance featuring Bugcat Capoo—a spectacular finale to the summer celebration.

The festival concluded successfully on the afternoon of June 8th at the Puli Fuxing Hot Spring Park, drawing a total of 470,000 attendees over its 10-day run and generating NT$26 million in total revenue across all exhibition areas. This year also marked the debut of a public booth voting activity, inviting attendees to select top-performing exhibitors based on popularity, booth design, and service quality. At the closing ceremony, County Mayor Hsu Shu-Hua personally presented awards to recognize the creativity and service excellence of participating brands, and issued certificates of appreciation to collaborative partners for their outstanding support.
