County Mayor Hsu Invites All to Nantou Guoxing Coffee Festival for Coffee and Scenic Views. Jul. 18th

The 10th annual “Nantou Guoxing Coffee Festival,” themed Coffee Aroma in Guoxing: Come Join Us, kicked off with great fanfare on July 18th at the Guoxing Interchange Living Sculpture Park (橋聳雲天綠雕園區) in Fugui Village, Guoxing Township. The two-day event drew large crowds, including coffee lovers traveling in groups from Taoyuan, Changhua, and Miaoli to taste and purchase Guoxing’s locally grown coffee. Nantou County Mayor Hsu Shu-Hua and Guoxing Township Mayor Chiu Mei-Ling invited people from across Taiwan to embark on a coffee-themed getaway to Guoxing—where visitors can enjoy fresh coffee, breathtaking landscapes, authentic Hakka cuisine, and bring home premium Guoxing coffee and local agricultural products to share with friends and family.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Township Mayor Chiu, with County Mayor Hsu attending as the event’s endorser. Distinguished guests included County Councilors Dai Shih-Cyuan, Wu Kuo-Chang, and Chen Yi-Chun; Chairperson of Guoxing Township Council Lai Cyuan-Yi; Yongjing Township Mayor Wei Shuo-Wei from Changhua County; and several Guoxing Township representatives. Together, they officially launched the “2025 Nantou Guoxing Coffee Festival.” During the ceremony, County Mayor Hsu presented award sashes and trophies to the winners of the “2025 Nantou County Coffee Evaluation.” The ceremony was simple yet dignified. Moreover, she congratulated Xiang Yang Taiwan Coffee for receiving the Presidential Award, commending the local farmers for their continuous improvement in plantation management and roasting techniques—efforts that allow the public to enjoy the finest Guoxing coffee.

County Mayor Hsu noted that in recent years, domestic appreciation for Taiwanese-grown coffee has grown significantly. Farmers have enthusiastically embraced the industry, recognizing that every step—from planting and cultivation to harvesting and roasting—affects the final flavor profile. Nantou County currently has approximately 188 hectares of coffee plantations, with Guoxing Township accounting for about 84 hectares. As a certified origin region, Guoxing’s coffee has earned strong consumer trust for its quality. In addition, she praised Township Mayor Chiu for her dedicated efforts in promoting the festival and extending marketing outreach beyond county borders. The festival has become a national attraction, with tour groups from across Taiwan arriving by chartered buses to participate, taste, and purchase Guoxing coffee. Its success has also boosted related industries, including velvet antler products and broader agricultural marketing. On another note, the county government hopes that the annual “Chocoffee Festival” will continue to promote local chocolate and coffee to a wider customer base, expanding market reach and driving a surge in agricultural sales.
