Minjiang Township Household Registration Office “Government Service Quality Award”
In the 7th anniversary of “Government Service Quality Award” held at National Development Council on June 8, the award winning government units was announced. Serving the people with quality, Minjiang Township Household Registration Office was awarded the highest honor for promoting the best service to the people – “The First Line Service Agency.” On June 30, National Development Council sponsored the award ceremony in the Guo-Kwang Conference Hall of the Chinese Petroleum Corporation Building in Xinyi District, Taipei. Zhang Feng-zi of the Township Office represented the agency to receive the award.
The “Government Service Quality Award” is open to all institutions affiliated to Executive Yuan, special municipality, and the institutions at the county (city) level. The contents of the award, depending on the features of the services, are categorized into “The First Line Service Agency” and “Service Planning Agency.”
In this year, there were 174 central government and local government agencies competing for the awards. The entries were judged by the evaluation team comprised of the administration sector, academia, and enterprises. After the evaluation of written documents and site evaluation, finally, about 30 agencies won the award, at a rate of 17%. On May 1, chaired by Lin Sheng-fen, the evaluation team arrived at Minjiang Township Household Registration Office, Nantou to conduct site evaluation. Director Chang presented a briefing on the all-function service desk and simplified operation process, and 9-in-1 cross agency services to the judges, who were impressed with its endeavor. Eventually, it was awarded the “The First Line Service Agency” award.
Minjian Township Household Registration Office was located in an old building on the second floor with no elevator. When Director Chang entered office on March 6, 2013, he began to improve the facilities of the old office building. He provided his colleagues with a pleasant, considerate, and warm service environment. Targeting the problems of ageing population and the high percentage of new immigrants, it projected tailor-made service measures, integrated local resources, and conducted cross-industry cooperation to present the best service from the local government.
The Civil Affairs Department, Nantou County Government expressed that, although Director Chang has only worked in the Township Office for about 2 years, his high quality services have won high recognition. With the ideal of “customers first and service first” he provides the people with considerate and convenient services. With the contributions of the colleagues and volunteers in the office, they have served the people. They deserve to win this honor. In the future, they will continue to serve the people with “convenient, innovative, and efficient” services.
