    The Model Community and Observation Meet 2015 and the Award Ceremony for the Community with Best Achievements were held on October 17 at the Baonan Temple square, Yingnan Community, Nantou City. Hosted by County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen, many honored guests attended the ceremony to show their appreciation to the achievements of their co-workers. The works of Yingnan Community had progressed rapidly, winning the first place in the Evaluation of the Community with the Best Achievements, earning high acclaim.

    Magistrate Lin expressed that since 2001, the County Government had conducted community evaluation. To date, 111 communities have participated in it. This year, 19 communities joined the event. After 10 days of evaluation, the community with distinguished achievements and the community with excellent achievements were awarded NT$ 100 thousand prize money, respectively. For Grade A achievers, the prize money of NT$ 50 thousand was granted. For each unique accomplishment, the prize money of NT$15 thousand was granted. Although the prize money was not much, the sponsor still hoped that the communities would make the best use of the amount in their construction.

    At the ceremony, community war drum array, towel exercise, dance together program led by the small flagship seed teachers and the Taiko drum squad of Fangmei Community, and more groups were invited to present their accomplishments. In the venue, there were also stalls displaying and selling products of the industries in their communities, community accomplishments exhibitions, regional catering, guided tour to the community and more. With all these active and passive exhibition of the communities’ achievements, it was hoped that these communities could learn from each other.

    The Yingnan Community Development Association was founded in 2000. Located at the north of Nantou and the east bank of Maoluo River, it is a rural community. The director of the association now is Zhuang Rong-zhi. In recent years, the community has achieved outstanding performances in community welfare, such as the care of elderly people and the holding of a happy classroom for elders, healthy xianggong class, love canteen and more, showing others how to have special features.

    According to the results of the County Community Evaluation in 2015, the shortlisted communities in the Distinguished Achievements category were Jiahe at Nantou City and Lancheng at Puli Town. The shortlisted communities in the Excellent Achievements category were Yingnan at Nantou City, Jiumei at Xinyi Township, Yushi at Caotun Town. The shortlisted communities in the Grade A Community category were Fenglin at Jenai Township, Shimen at Guoxing Township, Yuci at Zhongming, Guanfu at Zhongliao Township. For the communities with a single unique feature, they were Dingkan at Shuili Township, Pinglin at Caotun Township, Qingshui at Lugu Township, Tianzi at Mingjian Township, Jingai at Jenai Township, Bazhang at Jiji Township, and Xinsheng at Zhushan Township.
