Golden Safety Award 2015, Nantou ranked Number 2 in Taiwan in total scores
    Dedicated to maintain traffic and road safety, Nantou County is awarded Second Place in the Golden Safety Award 2015 in Taiwan, gaining the recognition from the Central Government. In the award presentation ceremony of Golden Safety Award 2015 held on November 17, at Zhongshan Hall, Taipei, Fang Hsin-hsiung, the Secretary-general of Nantou County Government attended the ceremony and receive the award on behalf of Magistrate Lin Ming-cheng. Transportation affects the development of tourism. Nantou has become a prosperous tourism county. Traffic and road safety have contributed to it greatly.

    The Golden Safety Award, held annually, started in 1980. Being the highest award for traffic safety in Taiwan, in the category of “Road Traffic Safety and Traffic Improvement Plans” there are the total scores award, outstanding award for single item. There are also outstanding award for road safety project (drunk driving prevention, gravel trucks safety management, and more), outstanding award for traffic safety education evaluation, excellent award for best professional drivers, outstanding traffic supervisor award, outstanding traffic volunteer award, outstanding traffic police award, outstanding auxiliary traffic police award, and more.

    This Golden Safety Award presentation ceremony was hosted by Lin Cheng-tzer, Minister without Portfolio. Nantou County has accomplished brilliantly. Nantou County Road Safety Committee won the second place in the second category with its total scores. Its single item scores also topped the list. The Road Safety Education Committee Team won the second place in the item of road safety in the second category. The law enforcement team in the Road Safety Committee also won the second place in the second category. The campaign team of the Road Safety Committee also won the second place in the second category. Secretary-general Fang received the awards on behalf of the county government.

    In the outstanding individuals’ category, Wu Chin-chun received the excellent award for best professional driver; Huang Hsiu-chin received the outstanding traffic supervisor award for her contributions in maintaining traffic safety; Chang Hui-kuan received the outstanding award for traffic volunteer award; Chuang Yu-hong received the outstanding traffic police award; and Lin Chia-feng received the outstanding auxiliary traffic police award.

    In the ceremony, in addition to honoring the excellent road safety groups, traffic police, traffic volunteers, and excellent professional drivers for their accomplishments, there were also luck draw lots with great gifts. To entertain the attendants, Johnny Yin, a Golden Melody Award singer, and Wang Ruixia, a renowned singer were invited to give live performances to present the heroes and heroines of Golden Safety Award their highest respect!
