    Part of the viewing platform, trail, and toilets at Ruilong Waterfall Park were damaged in a fire on July 2013. Prompted by Magistrate Lin Ming-cheng, the county government spent about NT$4 million to refurbish these facilities, including paving the road, repairing the pavilion and toilets, and reconditioning the environment. The refurbishment works were completed recently. Magistrate Lin inspected the site on December 1, and expressed that he had secured NT$12 million from the Tourism Bureau for the building of the new aerial platform built in the form of an arch bridge. It is hoped that the waterfall park will be re-opened before the Lunar New Year.

    Ruilong Waterfall is located along the Jiazouliao River, Pingding Village, Zhushan Town. Visitors can take Route-52 via Route-149 from Zhushan to arrive at Pingding Village. Along the way, the scenes of the tea gardens are gorgeous. Parking your vehicle at the parking lot in the waterfall park, you can take the trails. Just keep walking ahead and you will arrive at Ruilong Hanging Bridge. Crossing the bridge, and walk about 500m, you will arrive at the newly refurbished viewing platform. The new wooden plank way is flat for easy walking, and the environment is tranquil and pleasant.

    Magistrate Lin took a walk on the suspension bridge and inspected if all the facilities, including the newly added chairs and tables for leisure purposes in the pavilion, the newly added water tower in the toilets, the reinforcement of the non-slip nosing on the trails, and more were properly done along the way. Magistrate Lin expressed that he had already secured NT$12 million from the Tourism Bureau, and the construction of the viewing platform would be completed very soon so that visitors could walk over the trail that connected to the viewing platform and enjoy the splendid surrounding landscapes and the waterfall and river valley with perfect angles.

    Director-general Wang Yuan-chung of the Tourism Department expressed that, as Ruilong Waterfall has plenty of water flow; it has splendid landscapes with the surrounding areas. With the concentration of negative ions up to 8 thousand to 10 thousand, it is good for our health. Overall, it is a nice place for the entire family to go picnicking. Chen Feng-chun, head of Pingding Village, posed a positive attitude towards the dedications of the county government towards the development this sightseeing spot.
