Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, and Miaoli signed the manifesto of governing, The rise of central Taiwan that will navigate this country
The first meeting of 4 leaders of “Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, and Miaoli Governing Platform” was held on January 5 at the VIP Room of Taichung City Government. In the meeting, Lin Ming-chen, the Magistrate of Nantou County; Lin Chia-lung, the Mayor of Taichung City; Wei Ming-ku, the Magistrate of Changhua County; and Hsu Yao-Chang, the Magistrate of Miaoli County signed the “Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, and Miaoli Manifesto of Governing,” opening up the cooperation beyond “party, issue, and city and county” among three counties and one city. They examined the issues of personnel, tourism, labor, and Hakka affairs profoundly and vowed to join their hands in making the common vision of the rise of central Taiwan come real.
During the past year, Taichung, Changhua, and Nantou accomplished 39 cooperation cases, deriving excellent results. Establishing an operative model for cooperation platform, they have achieved an exemplar for regional cooperation in the country. In this year, they have invited Hsu Yao-Chang, the Magistrate of Miaoli County to join them. They will sponsor the leaders meeting in turn, to allow them experience the folklores and customs of different counties and cities. Grouping together, they will work for the prosperity and development of central Taiwan.
Magistrate Lin expressed that in the past year, they had achieved 39 issues with satisfactory results. In addition, they had also made consensus in the matters of disaster prevention. During the typhoons last year, Chung-Chang-Tou announced the news for typhoon work and school stoppages together to avoid controversy among the people. Nantou is developing its tourism. During weekends and holidays, Xitou, Puli, and Cingjing are packed with visitors, creating certain traffic problems. In the future, it is going to project transportation construction to improve traffic issues so that visitors can travel around the county without being troubled by traffic jams.
In the future, meetings will be held among the city and three counties to deepen their friendship in order to facilitate the promotion of policies and discuss on the topics of transportation, construction, and more. The leaders will determine the paths of future policies as guidance for their implementations conducted by the staffs. In the next three years, they will accomplish certain results that will be enjoyment by the people. In addition, there is a high percentage of Hakka among the 5 million people living in Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, and Miaoli. Magistrate Lin stressed that they are going to promote Hakka culture and preserve and develop Hakka features.
In the meeting, the city and three counties achieved 15 cooperation plans with consensus. The four leaders also signed the “Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, and Miaoli Manifesto of governing” to initiate officially the service network for regional occupational injury, establish regional strategic alliance of labor inspection to conduct single-track labor standard inspection, plan high rank supervisors’ consensus camp, sponsor Hakka communities landscape connection plan, and more, totaled 15. By implementing these projects, it is hoped that the city and three counties are going to develop and prosper.
