Premier Arrived the County and Cared for Nantou Cultural and Creative Industries and Tourism Condition of Sun Moon Lake
Premier Simon Chang arrived at this county on March 26th. Besides visiting Zhushan “TownWay Cultural and Creative Corp., LTD,” he cared for the development of local cultural and creative industries. He also went to Sun Moon Lake to get to know the current tourism status of Chinese mainland guests. In response to the local owners who hoped to prolong the subsidy term for electric yachts, Prier Chang also said he would consider doing so since the owners have such intention. Secretary-General of County Government Jui-chih Hung also escorted him throughout the entire tour. He wanted to say thank you to Premier Chang for his concern about the development of relevant industries in Nantou.

Premier Chang and his escort first arrived at Zhushan Township to visit the TownWay Cultural and Creative Corp., LTD, Yuanhao Bamboo Shop, and AXMONArt Workshop to listen to a brief description made by each person in charge and Director of Bamboo Life Cultural Association Chi-Lang Lin. Premier Chang was very interested in each bamboo craft, bamboo toothbrush, and other crafts. Before entering the Bamboo Garden Humanity Sphere located on the 2nd floor of Zhushan Bus Station, he saw the interior space was decorated with the bamboo, and couldn’t help but take out his camera to shoot pictures. He kept saying it was wonderful.

Premier Chang said he was very impressed by his first glance at the scenery after visiting the town cultural and creative industries in Zhushan. To see is to believe. It is very unique. He had to express his gratitude. Premier Chang hoped other towns in Taiwan could develop their local features to promote local economic development. The second generation of Yuanhao Bamboo Shop Chia-hung Lin went back home and stayed 4 years. He smiled and said he was “squatting.” The bamboo toothbrush he produced right now has already moved into mass production. Even foreign manufacturers came with interest to ask him about it.

After that, Premier Chang and his escort came to Mei Gardens nearby the Shueishe Wharf at Sun Moon Lake, listened to the report made by Director of Sun Moon Lake Scenic Area Administration Office Chen-chien Chang, explained the traveling condition of mainland Chinese guests at Sun Moon Lake, and described the condition of business operation run by the owners. According to statistics offered by the administration office, this January and February, the amount of mainland Chinese guests decreased by about 6% compared to the same period last year. It does not show a significant change as a whole. Because of this, Premier Chang said he would continue to observe. Additionally, within the tourists at Sun Moon Lake, the amount of mainland Chinese guests constitutes 25%. There are other domestic and international tourists. He will reinforce international promotion marketing in future as well.

Premier Chang also took an electric yacht cruise to hang out around the lake in particular. There are 11 electric yachts on Sun Moon Lake so far, which constitutes 10% of normal yachts. Premier Chang said in terms of the response to employees, they hoped to prolong the term of subsidy. The current production of domestic electric yachts cannot suit owners’ needs. Their supply does not meet the demand. Now that the owners are willing to do so, the government can work out a policy to provide collaboration accordingly.
