Sun Moon Shopping Mall, a new international landmark in Taiwan, will be located in Puli. Under the active investment promotion of County Mayor Hsu ShuHua, Ching Ying Development Co., Ltd. invested more than NTD$ 1 billion to develop Sun Moon Shopping Mall, covering an area of 462,592 sq ft near the exit ramp of the Ailan Interchange of the National Highway No. 6 (Shuishalian Freeway) which is a necessary way to the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area. On the 14th, with county mayor Hsu’s witness, the company signed the residency contract with the well-known Japanese bookstore, TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE which offers creative life proposal and continuous vitality. It is expected to have the grand opening around the Spring Festival next year. The signing ceremony of this Taiwan-Japan investment and development program was held at Fairfield by Marriott Taichung which was successfully built by Ching Ying Development Co., Ltd. and Marriott International, Inc. Under the witness of County Mayor Hsu ShuHua, Chan KamLun (Deputy Executive Director of Central Taiwan Joint Services Center, Executive Yuan), Puli-local county councilors Lin FangYu, Su YuCheng, former councilor Yeh JenChuang and other guests, Hung YiYen, Chairman of Ching Ying Development Co., Ltd., and Hashimoto Ryunosuke, Chairman and General Manager of TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE, signed the Sun Moon Tsutaya chain store contract. County Mayor Hsu was highly pleased to have the internationally renowned bookstore as a brand new tourist attraction, and expected that in the future, with the joint efforts of Ching Ying Development Co., Ltd. and TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE, Nantou’s local resources can be utilized to further promote the Nantou tourism industry internationally. County Mayor Hsu said that Nantou County’s beautiful mountains and water scenery and diverse cultures are the advantages for its tourism development. It not only has internationally renowned scenic spots such as Sun Moon Lake, Xitou, and Hehuan Mountain, but also has large events held to attract tourists, including the Nantou Global Tea Expo, Nantou Starry Night Festival in Hehuan Mountain Dark Sky Park, Hot Spring Festival, Music & Fireworks Festival, Sun Moon Lake International Swimming Carnival, Bicycle Carnival, and Nantou Lantern Festival. Both of which has successfully attracted millions of tourists every year. In the other hand, in order to enhance the vitality of "New Capital of Tourism in Taiwan" and break new ground, County Mayor Hsu continues to seek advice from professionals and summarizes solutions. She looks forward to elevate Nantou tourism level from "regional” to “international" through more international tourism investment. Moreover, she believes that allowing "one-time tourists" going deep into the local area to establish connections with the local people would break through the old boundaries of tourists, making them eagerly look forward to revisit Nantou frequently.
