The first U15 Women’s Softball Asia Cup started on June 13th at FuHsing Softball Stadium in Puli Township, Nantou County. The grand opening ceremony was held in the afternoon, with Nantou County Mayor Hsu ShuHua as the guest of honor. She executed a perfect pitch bring good luck to the whole game. County Mayor Hsu pointed out that in order to make this important international tournament even better, the Nantou County Government complied the guides from the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), Softball Asian and Chinese Taipei Amateur Softball Association to carry out the required renovations in a rush in early May, including turf field maintenance, red clay filling, hurdles, lounge, and other works. Moreover, she expressed her gratitude to WBSC, Softball Asian and Chinese Taipei Amateur Softball Association for their close cooperation with Nantou County Government during the pre-game planning and preparations, making the tournament to open smoothly and hopfully to be a complete success. The seven participating teams for 2023 U15 Women's Softball Asia Cup were the hosts Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong China, Philippines, Singapore and India. The tournament took place at FuHsing Softball Stadium in Puli Township for 5 days, from June 13th to June 17th. The top two teams claimed two tickets to the WBSC U15 Women’s Softball World Cup, set to take place in Tokyo, Japan, this October (2023). After 5 days of fierce competition, the gold medal game and the bronze medal game kicked off on the 17th. Eventually, Chinese Taipei defeated Japan 3-2 to win the gold medal, while Japan, who are already qualified for the WBSC U15 Women's Softball World Cup because of being hosts, won the silver medal with the Philippines finishing third. As a result, each of these three teams secured a spot in the inaugural WBSC U15 Women’s Softball World Cup in Tokyo, Japan, on this October. The closing ceremony was held on the same day, presided over by the Deputy County Mayor Wang RuiDe.
