The "2025 Caotun Christmas Fireworks Carnival," co-organized by the Nantou County Government and the Caotun Township Office, reached its dazzling climax on the 28th at Kubi Family Park. As a signature highlight of the "2025 Nantou Flower Carnival," the final day of the event drew tens of thousands of tourists and local residents. County Mayor Hsu Shu-Hua and Caotun Township Mayor Chien Tzu-Sheng joined the celebrations, leading the crowd in an early welcome to 2026. The evening concluded with a high-energy performance by the local hip-hop sensations "Caotun Boyz (草屯囝仔)" and a breathtaking 15-minute fireworks display that lit up the night sky.

The program featured a powerhouse lineup of performers. Local dance troupe "A+" and former girl-group star "Joan (聖恩)" opened the night with dynamic choreography. They were followed by singer-songwriter "Alan AC (阿蘭AC)," whose soulful originals and Christmas classics added a romantic touch to the atmosphere. A major highlight was the first-ever Caotun appearance by the popular Japanese-style idol group AKB48 Team TP. Members Chang Yu-Ling (張羽翎), Huang Yi-Lin (黃奕霖), Meng Ting-Yun (孟庭筠), Chen Ying-Chen (陳穎臻), Chen Zhao-Ni (陳昭霓), and Chen Yi-Ling (陳以凌) captivated the audience with a sweet and energetic performance that won over fans.

The grand finale saw the hometown heroes Caotun Boyz take the stage with five of their biggest hits, including "Young Fellow (少年家)," "Unrestrained (放蕩不羈)," and "Loving Me Makes You Die (愛我你會死)." Their set culminated in a massive crowd sing-along, showcasing their immense local popularity and electrifying stage presence.

County Mayor Hsu stated that although the opening of National Highway No. 6 altered Caotun’s traffic patterns, the county government has actively promoted township-wide development through industrial upgrades. In addition to establishing the Caotun Handicraft Industry Park, the much-anticipated ‘JiuJiuFeng Helium Balloon Park’ is set to begin trial operations early next year (2026). The Caotun Bus Station and Caotun Sports Center projects are also scheduled to launch in 2026, injecting new vitality into Caotun’s tourism. Hsu expressed strong support and anticipation for expanding the carnival in the coming year, while extending gratitude to the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications for its financial backing, which has successfully spurred a winter tourism boom in Nantou.

Township Mayor Chien pointed out that this was the first time the Caotun Township Office hosted a large-scale Christmas event series. From the warm tree-lighting ceremony on Christmas Eve to the two-day weekend carnival, the enthusiastic participation of churches, schools, and residents demonstrated Caotun’s ability to host top-tier events. He emphasized that this star-studded event lasting two consecutive days not only filled the town with youthful energy but also created a spectacular gala on par with those of Taiwan’s major municipalities. Chien expressed pride in this achievement and thanked the County Government team, led by County Mayor Hsu, for their full support.
