He also invited them to travel around Nantou and enjoy the hot spring spa, watch the blooming plum blossom, and eat the gourmet dishes there.
Magistrate Lin expressed that Jiji Music Marathon was a successful event that consisted of healthy, leisure, and music activities, praised highly by marathon athletes. In recent years, marathons were held in different towns and cities in Nantou. In each of them, there were night jogging groups that summoned sports lovers to run at night, becoming a fad. In the future, the County Government hoped to promote sightseeing and farm produce marketing with the successful experience in holding Jiji Music Marathon in different towns and cities. He invited all runners to join the sports event and bring prosperities to local communities.
The run was held along the green tunnel, which was a challenging and beautiful location. Along the way, there were street performers to entertain and cheer up the athletes. Different from other marathons, it had its own features, earning high praises from runners. In this year, there were more than 6 thousand runners from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Japan, American, and various European countries. In this grand event, many athletes dressed up in different appealing costumes, adding more fun to the run.
After Magistrate Lin, Mayor Chen Chi-heng of Jiji, and the honorable guests fired the shot to announce the beginning of the race, the runners started in groups. Liao Kai-li from Siluo expressed that it was the first time she had even participated in Jiji Music Marathon. After seeing the photos of runners in the marathon last year, she thought it was very cool so she joined the run this year. Jiji was a beautiful town, inhabited with friendly people. It was also a kind of enjoyment to run in the fresh air of Jiji. It is a place that roadrunners should not miss.
