Magistrate Lin attended the year-end charity and free medical consultation activity at Nantou Hospital
In the morning on January 8, Magistrate Lin Ming-chen of Nantou County went to Jenshou Park to attend the year-end gifts presentation and free medical consultation activity sponsored by Nantou Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare. At the venue, supplies were presented to the 120 middle and low-income families in the county as year-end gifts. In addition, free medical consultations were also provided to the people in need. Magistrate Lin expressed his gratitude towards Nantou Hospital and Ms. Yang Yueh-e for contributions to minorities in the county so that they could feel the care and concern given to them by society.
Hung Hung-chang, Director of Nantou Hospital expressed that in addition to offering long-term medical care to patients, the hospital extended its helping hands to solitary elderly, poor families, homeless people, and minorities by presenting them with necessary supplies and free medical consultation services, hoping that folks feel the care and concern given to them by the hospital. He also invited like-minded people to engage in social charity services to provide care and concern to minorities in society.
In this event, all the colleagues of Nantou Hospital worked together to sponsor this charity sale in the hospital. With the money raised, totaling about NT$10,000, they bought tissue paper and other daily necessities that were to be presented to minorities in need. Ms. Yang Yueh-e, who had donated various supplies in the past three years consecutively, was not absent from this charity activity. She bought socks and 120 sacks of rice with weights of 5kg each for the people in the venue.
To express his gratitude, Magistrate Lin presented a thank you certificate to Ms. Yang for her contributions, which brought more warmth to society. Magistrate Lin advocated more people to join in similar charity activities to help poor families and minorities to overcome their hardships. Moreover, Mayor Sung Hwai-lin of Nantou City, Legislator of Lai Yen-hsueh of Nantou County Council, and more also attended the event to show their support.
In addition to providing free medical services, such as measuring patients’ blood pressure, blood lipid, and more, Nantou Hospital also presented them with necessary supplies. The food truck of Jiahe Community Development Association also joined the event and the elderly people in the community cooked hot meals to the people in the venue. Served by the volunteers, all the participants enjoyed delicious noodles in the hospital. The event ended perfectly.
