Magistrate Lin accompanies Director-General David Hsieh of the Tourism Bureau to inspect land reserved for recreational purposes
Accompanied by Magistrate Lin Ming-cheng of Nantou County, Director-General David Hsieh of Tourism Bureau visited the land reserved for the Jurassic Dinosaur Park at the 99 Peaks Nature Reserve and the Shoutian Temple Sky Walk Project on April 1. Director-General Hsieh praised the projects as creative and attractive. He also expressed his optimism for the completion of these constructions, and suggested that the County Government apply for the funding of the Bright Spot Project, an interdisciplinary and competitive project, of the Tourism Bureau.
Magistrate Lin and his team went to inspect the 99 Peaks Art Park as the first stop of the tour. At that location, Magistrate Lin explained the preliminary plan for the land and park. Occupying an area of 29 hectares, the preserved land would become the location of a Jurassic dinosaur theme park, including a dinosaur art and culture zone, dinosaur theme zone, pathways, and camping sites. During its development, they would do all their best to retain the natural conditions of the woods there. A small rail track with trains carrying people to and from the inner park and outer park would be designed to bring people more fun and joy. Eventually, they hoped to construct a whole new sightseeing attraction in Nantou.
The Wang Yaung-chung, the Director of Nantou Tourism Department expressed that the National Development Council had already issued the permit to the development plan of the Niaozueitan Artificial Lake in Wu River. Therefore, complete recreational functions of its surrounding area would be planned and built. They would also build a parking lot near the interchange to provide shuttle services to the visitors of the park. Likewise, the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Park and Jurassic Park could be linked into a new traveling route.
Later, the visiting company arrived at Shoutian Temple for another survey. They went to the pathways behind the temple to examine the preserved land and project for the skywalk. Magistrate Lin expressed that the County Government had applied for financial subsidization from the Central Government with the Songboling Recreation Area and Skywalk and Surrounding Sightseeing Spots Development Project. They would conduct further analysis and discussion regarding its manners of development and management in the future.
Inspecting the sites, Director-General Hsieh reminded the County Government that in addition to the construction of the Skywalk, it should also make a plan to develop the public facilities in the surrounding areas. Now, a Skywalk had already been constructed in Baqua Mountain in Changhua. He suggested the County Government to reconsider the plan to avoid overlapping the features of the tourist spots.
