The trial operation of Zhongliao Skywalk Hung Hsiu-chu ascended to get famous
    Longfeng Waterfall Skywalk at Zhongliao Township began to operate on a trial basis on July 6. The Vice President of the Legislative Yuan, accompanied by Magistrate Lin Ming-chen, ascended the skywalk on the first day of its trial operation. Along the way, they enjoyed the landscape below their feet. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on July 22. All visitors are welcome to get on the skywalk and enjoy the landscapes there.

    Longfeng Skywalk operated by Zhongliao Township Office, will start to operate on a trial basis from August 6 to 19. Vice President Hung of Legislative Yuan took the lead to get on the skywalk on the first day of its trial operation, visiting this awesome construction. As Vice President Hung has already become the focus of the media, Magistrate Lin joked that the skywalk will become famous after a visit by a famous person. It will save the township a lot of money on advertisements.

    Vice President Hung expressed that Zhongliao Township was severely damaged in the 921 Earthquake. Seeing the township office and the county government working ceaselessly to revive local tourism, she expressed her wish that Long Feng Waterfall Skywalk could pump up the sightseeing business and promote the prosperity of Zhongliao by attracting more visitors. It was her pleasure to endorse for the township in front of media, she added.

    Magistrate Lin pointed out that he had endeavored to make Long Feng Waterfall Skywalk the first bright spot since his inauguration. He would like to thank the contributions of Chang Yung-hui the Township Mayor of Zhongliao and the Township Council. In the future, the county government will help the 13 towns and townships in the county to have “one resort in one township.” To accomplish this goal, South Zhongliao is also planning to develop new sightseeing resort to promote the development of the community. Magistrate Lin would also love to thank Vice President Hung’s visit of the skywalk. Her arrival was a free advertisement for the resort.

    The length of the skywalk was 30m, at the altitude of 50m above the ground. The whole bridge is a U-shape and transparent RC structure, with no hanging devices. It will start to operate on July 22. During weekdays, it allows 1,500 visitors, with 1,000 online bookings and 500 tickets sold at site. During weekends and holidays, it allows 2,500 visitors, with 1,500 online bookings and 1,000 tickets sold at site.

    The skywalk charges a small fee to all visitors: adults, NT$100 and concession NT$70, including Nantou County Citizens, elementary school students, soldiers, and police. The special discount ticket is NT$10, available to senior citizens at the age of 65 or above and children at 6 or below.
