“Taiwan’s Heart/Premium Tea from Nantou” sold at actual and virtual channels. Deputy Magistrate Chen recommended it highly
On September 11, Nantou County Government sponsored a press conference at Taian Rest Area (Northbound) to promote the Nantou tea industry development plan “Taiwan’s Heart/Premium Tea from Nantou” sold at actual and virtual channels. Deputy Magistrate Chen Cheng Sheng attended the meet to promote Nantou’s fine tea and hosted the unveiling ceremony for “Nantou Premium Tea Zone” to announce the commencement of the opening of the actual/virtual channels. There was also a “Nantou Tea Art Culture Activity”, offering participants free tea.
Deputy Magistrate Chen expressed that the quality of Nantou tea is worthy of high praises and can stand the toughest trial. It meets all the highest standards for pesticide free examination and mixed tea free testing and is certified as a traceable agricultural product (TAP). It even bears the badge of the origin of production—an ID for the premium tea. Consumers are encouraged to buy and taste this quality tea without any worry. The quality Nantou tea is now shelved at Zhongli Rest Station, Taian Rest Station and Gukeng Rest Station. Welcome to buy it at site or from the virtual shop via the internet.
According to the statistics, the vehicles and people dropping by the national highway service points can bring up to 3 billion NT$ of trade opportunities. The county government has set up the “Nantou Premium Tea” marketing channels at Zhongli Service Area, Taian Service Area, Gukeng Service Area, and the international sightseeing spot – OTOP International Marketing Alliance at Sun Moon Lake. People can pop in and buy this fine tea anytime. In addition, it collaborates with Yahoo Mall – Virtual Channel for Taiwan Local Products to promote Nantou tea industry culture as well as provide opportunities for people to taste the unique aroma of Nantou tea. Tseng Ming-jui, the Director of Nantou Farmers’ Association pointed out that all the tea grown in Nantou is certified by various government institutions. People can also trace their places of origin with those badges, which help to construct the value of the brand name image.
In the activity, the first program was “Nantou Tea Culture Activity,” in which two tea artists brewed the Green Tip Oolong Tea and Four Season Oolong Tea to treat all the participants in the conference. Tea tasters should begin tasting tea from smelling its aroma, then proceed to watching its color, taste it and sip it slowly. Later, Deputy Magistrate Chen, Director-General Chen Jui-ching of the Department of Agriculture, General Manager Cheng Rong-yi of Nan Ren Hu Entertainment Co. Ltd., Director Hu Chia-chen of Nantou Farmers’ Association, and more set their hands on tea roasting. Wearing bamboo hats, they put the raw tealeaves on the sieves and then poured them into the barrel. In addition, they took many photos with the Nantou tea farmers that set up stalls in the fair.
