County Mayor Lin Inspected the Nanyun Interchange Schedule,Hoping to Release Traffic and Create and Booming Zhushan
The Taiwan Freeway No.3 Nanyun Interchange planned to open to traffic at the end of this April. County Mayor Ming-Chen Lin inspected the interchange and was contacted to talk about the construction schedule of the road project after meeting Councilor I-Chu Tsai and the Taichung Branch Director of the Widening Construction Office, Taiwan Area National Freeway Bureau, MOTC Sheng-Wei Chang on February 24. County Mayor Lin said he would plan to apply for an opportunity to extend the Nanyun Interchange to the Ershui Township, connect it with Tienchung HSR station, and complete the transport system in the Big Zhushan Area so that people can choose a more convenient way to take the HSR train.

The Nanyun Interchange was achieved through joint collaboration between the county government and the county councilors when I was serving as a legislator 4 years ago. The total amount of expense on this project requires more than 1 billion. The current project schedule has come to an end. It is estimated that the ceremony to be opened to traffic will be held on April 29. County Mayor Lin said part of the interchange schedule has reached 87% completion with the hard work of all project laborers. It is estimated that this project will be completed in mid-April. The schedule in terms of connecting the road has reached 70% completion and we assume that it will be completed by the end of March. After the traffic is opened, the southbound feature of Zhushan Interchange may be able to ease traffic in the future, which will also help a lot on the development of the Zhushan area.

County Government also worked hard to achieve the opportunity to expand Provincial Freeway No. 49 as its substitute highway to distribute the traffic bound for Sunline sea, improve road traffic conditions for those bound for Shanyen Creek, and plan to ask for an opportunity to raise funding for the road system of the central life circle by building a 1-kilometer bridge to extend the Nanyun Interchange to Ershui Township, and connect it with the Tienchung HSR station so that the transport system can turn to perfection with much convenience. After the Interchange is opened to traffic, the traffic in Zhonghe Village and Chung-Chi Village at Zhushan Township can be more convenient. The county government also planned to map out an industrial zone in this area to attract firms to move in and increase employment to boost local development.

The residents in Zhushan Township all expect and hope for good things from the Nanyun Interchange. The current project schedule is coming to an end. The traffic jam found in Zhushan Interchange will be eased accordingly. Councilor Tsai especially expressed his gratitude on behalf of the residents in Zhushan Township in the hope that in the future it may bring prosperity to Zhushan. Director Chang pointed out the added project schedule of Nanyun Interchange made by Taiwan Freeway No. 3 has exceeded 87% completion. The department has the confidence to complete it in mid-April, and run a final inspection as soon as possible for its transaction in the hope that it may be opened to traffic on April 29.
