2024 Tour de Taiwan Stage 4 Nantou County Shows Beauty of Nantou to World, March 13th

2024 Tour de Taiwan (國際自由車環台公路大賽) took place from March 10th to March 14th, and the stage 4 race started on March 13th. County Mayor Hsu ShuHua and Deputy County Mayor Wang RuiDe led the county government team to attend the opening ceremony, welcoming the top cyclists around the world to Nantou. The Youtube full five-day live steaming and Eurosport broadcast of this international event available in multiple languages record not only the exciting race, but also the amazing sceneries of Nantou and the enthusiasm and cheering of the local people along the route, which indeed promote and market the beauty of Nantou to the world.

 

At the 2024 Tour de Taiwan stage 4, many enthusiastic spectators crowded on both sides of the start point of the Nantou County Hall to offer cheers and encouragement for riders. After Hsu ShuHua, Nantou County Mayor, Lee KaiChih, Secretary General of the Chinese Taipei Cycling Association (CTCA), Onkar Singh, Secretary General of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), county councilors Lin JuYang and Chien ChienHsiang led the ride and honked the horns, a total of 205 top riders from 24 teams from 38 countries around the world officially set off to challenge the 2024 Tour de Taiwan stage 4 race, which covered a total distance of 167.15km, making it the longest stage of the five.

 

According to the County Mayor Hsu, the race route of the 4th stage passes through 8 counties and towns, including Nantou City, Mingjian Township, Jiji Township, Shueili Township, Yuchi Township, Puli Township, Guosing Township and Caotun Township. The riders passed by some well-known attractions, such as Green Tunnel Entrance, Mingtan Reservoir and National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute. The stage finished at the Xiangshan Visitor Center after riders circled one round along the Sun Moon Lake.

With full five-day live streaming on Youtube and best moments broadcast on Eurosport over 60 countries in 20 languages, it is sure to increase effectively Nantou’s international visibility and also enable the residents to appreciate this high-level international cycling events.

 

Three out of the five strong cyclists of the Chinese Taipei Team this year come from Nantou, including Lu ShaoHsuan (盧紹軒) from Nantou City, Wu ChihHao (吳之皓) from Caotun and Li KuanHsien (李冠賢) from Wudeng Village, Yuchi Township. County Mayor Hsu specially encouraged them to strive for good results to win glory for Taiwan and the county, and hopefully win the leader jersey for Taiwan. Unfortunately, Lu ShaoHsuan and Li KuanHsien were both injured and failed to join stage 4 race.

 

The stage winner is Carter Bettles from Roojai Insurance (彼特斯-泰國盧賈伊隊), crossing the finish line in 3:55:39 while COBO CAYON Ivan of EKP(科博卡永-西班牙柯恩製藥隊) awarded yellow jersey, DE CASSAN Davide of PTK(德卡桑-義大利波爾蒂隊) awarded green jersey, DEBONS Antoine of COR(德邦斯-義大利勒泰隊) awarded polka dot jersey and KOISHI Yuma of JCL (小石祐馬-日本右京隊) awarded blue jersey.
