Sun Moon Lake
The surface of Sun Moon Lake is clear with mirror-like water and reflections of mountainous trees. It is the most well-known natural tourist resource in Taiwan with the highest potentials for tourism development. Due to its special geographical position and resources, the scene of “Two Lake Regions Mirroring the Moon”has been listed as one of the 8 Wonders of Taiwan since long time ago. Up to now, Sun Moon Lake, apart from its representative position among Taiwanese resorts, has become the internationally famous scenic spot. Due to its broad water region and extraordinarily profound and silent characteristic, Sun Moon Lake is a name for eautiful water and mountain views, such as the resorts of “Wenwu Temple,”“Hanbi Tower,” “Dachu Lake,” “Dehua Temple,” etc. which integrate into a full picture of humanistic and cultural origins.
There are quays enabling large boats to anchor at any spots. Visitors can also choose take a boat trip to watch the lake scenery, or to row small boats to get a close contact with the lake. Perhaps you can have a promenade on the round-lake trails. Meanwhile, you can appreciate the lakeside scenery. Furthermore, you can climb up to “Sun Moon Lake Weather Forecast Station” at a height of 1,050 meters. The length of the whole trail is 4 kilometers, requiring about 3 hours’ to take a round-trip walk. It’s exciting and fun, isn’t it?
Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village
No matter the expression of an aboriginal culture, presentation of landscapes or thrills and fun of amusement facilities, the multifaceted Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village is undoubtedly a “must-go” significant scenic spot.
The Village is established to preserve the aboriginal culture of Taiwan, and memorize the ancestors’ efforts in passing on the culture and meritorious deeds of developing Fengyuan. As the Village consistently develops its tourist business, it still maintains the aborigines of Taiwan as the theme, introducing the characteristics and life styles of various aboriginal tribes. Besides, it is also the only large cultural park in Taiwan giving a full picture of the aboriginal heritage.
