The two-day “2017 Nantou County Magistrate Premium Tea Award Ceremony and Fair” was held at the Nantou International Sand Sculpture Art and Culture Park on July 8. Magistrate Lin, Ming-Chen presented the Outstanding Award tablets to the tea farmers. And the premium tea was sold at NT$ 80,000 with the highest bid. Magistrate Lin also gave the premium tea his guarantee, and pleaded consumers to buy Nantou tea with peace of mind.

Magistrate Lin expressed that the basic requirement for entering the Magistrate Premium Tea Contest was pesticide residue free. In addition, they must provide the certificates of origin by government institutions in order to participate in the contest, setting a high demand on quality. After double tests, the award-winning teas were confirmed to be pesticide residue free. Then, they were forwarded to the tea farmers for sale. Although there were fewer entries this year than those in the last year, the contest focused more on quality, not the quantity. It is believed that with its continual promotion, it will help farmers in various townships and towns in the county to promote the sale of their tea.
