On the 22nd, the Nantou County Government Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration of the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications held a press conference for the opening of Hanbi Trail. The 12 poets and literary authors, except Lo Chih-Cheng, Chen Yi-Chih, Li Jui-Teng, and Yen Chung-Cheng, all participated in person. And Yen Shang’s two daughters attended on behalf of their father, who passed away last year. Deputy County Magistrate Chen Cheng-Sheng, Deputy Director Liao His-Piao of the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration, and Director Lin Jung-Sen of the Cultural Affairs Bureau were also present and the first to experience the atmosphere and recreation of Sun Moon Lake different from the past.

Deputy County Magistrate Chen said that the Hanbi Trail created a precedent for Nantou County’s tourism to take root in the literary heritage. He thanked the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration for supporting the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s idea. The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration is responsible for the installation of the monuments and signs along the trail, and the Cultural Affairs Bureau is responsible for inviting literary authors to participate in the grand event. With full cooperation, an innovative literary landscape is introduced into the internationally renowned tourist attraction Sun Moon Lake to increase the depth of tourism based on embodied love poems. In the future, the Nantou County Government can also look for more partners and create more trails with literary heritage in other scenic spots in the county.
