460 Graduates Received Awards at Joint Presentation Ceremony for County Mayor’s Award, June 18th
The Nantou County Government held the "Joint Presentation Ceremony for County Mayor’s Award of the Academic Year 2022-2023" at National Chung-Hsing Senior High School on June 18th. The awardees were outstanding fresh graduates with a total of 460 students, from schools including National Chi Nan University, Nan Kai University of Technology, national and private high schools, junior high schools and elementary schools. County Mayor Hsu personally presented the awards one by one, encouraging the winners to learn endlessly, continue to improve professional knowledge, devote themselves to character cultivation, and contribute to hometowns and the society after finishing studies.

The awards ceremony was divided into two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, by township and city. The prize this year was a portable EasyCard (including a hanging chain), which is highly commemorative and practical, and a functional backpack. The EasyCard was specially inscribed with the words "excellence in learning and behavior" by Master Li GuMo in recognition of the County Mayor’s Award winners.

In addition, excellent performances were arranged to heat up the atmosphere of the ceremony, including the international ballroom dancing by the Taichung training center of Chinese Taipei DanceSport Federation, chorusing by the volunteers from Kuang Hua Elementary School, and music and hot dance performances by National Chung-Hsing Senior High School. Deputy County Mayor Wang RuiDe, County Councilor Wu ChiNan, Director-General of Department of Education, Nantou County, Wang ShuLing attended the ceremony to congratulate the award-winning students.

“The awardees were recognized by their teachers for their efforts in school, and they deserve the County Mayor’s Award. Through the joint presentation of the award, it is expected that the students will be encouraged and will continue to work hard with the same spirit as they move on to another life learning journey after graduation,” said County Mayor Hsu. “I would like to express my gratitude to the principals for their efforts and to the teachers for their actively teaching. In additional to the continuous improvement of the software and hardware used in education, the county government will allocate various educational subsidies and overseas scholarships from next year onwards, hoping to enhance international competitiveness and give children a better future.”
