The year-end press conference for county government performance took place at the Nantou Tax Agency on the eve of the county mayor’s inauguration anniversary on the 22nd, attended by County Mayor Hsu ShuHua, Wang RuiDe, Deputy County Mayor, Hung JuiChih, Secretary-General, directors of each department of the county and more than 100 government staffs. The press conference kicked off with a pleased performance by energetic preschool students. Later, County Mayor Hsu reported the important achievements of Nantou County Government this year and new measures in 2024. With the players of the "Nantou Baseball Team" composed of 3 elementary school baseball teams in the county, county mayor and the attended guests threw balls and chanted "Pitch in with new vitality," demonstrating the new vitality of Nantou County Government through actions.

After taking office, County Mayor Hsu promoted policies under the principles of pragmatism, steadiness, diversity and sustainability. Within 3 months, she successfully seamless integrated her election manifesto with the county government policies, making her whole team receive recognition. She earned more than 83% administrative satisfaction according to the latest poll data of the civil media and won “Best New Comer" award in the magazine poll. Moreover, as the outcome of the County and City Overall and Sustainable Competitiveness Survey, Nantou County has not only won the “Best Improvement Award,” but also been hailed as “Leading City in Happiness” for its "Social Welfare" ranked first in Taiwan. County Mayor Hsu expressed her deep gratitude to the county residents for their recognition, which is her most precious motivation and the power used to promote various policies. Their enthusiastic support is also the motive force for pushing forward the advance of Nantou County.

County Mayor Hsu values public opinions. She is steady, decisive and efficient. She actively promoted a number of new measures as follows: digitalized various measures and established service windows for new immigrants to offer services more convenient to the public; diversified the service options for Nantou Senior Citizen Card; restored police stations to open 24/7; set up Shuili night first aid station to enhance rural medical services; successfully push Nantou into international market by its Nantou tea and the famous gingers from Mingjian Township; had International competitions held in Nantou, enabling the citizens to watch exciting games while sharing the beauty of Nantou to the world; revised and increased the medalist bonuses for Olympic and Asian Games; held Rainbow Weaver Fashion Contest, pushing Taiwanese indigenous culture to the cutting edge of fashion; equipped interactive whiteboard (IWB) in school classrooms and reduced teacher-student ratio of the affiliated preschools of public elementary schools, providing more convenient and comfortable learning environment to both teachers and students in Nantou; and announced Sun Moon Lake as the first air quality maintenance area in the county, utilizing technology control to protect the natural beauty of Nantou.

According to County Mayor Hsu, the county government also put a lot of efforts into construction plans during this year. For example, site selection and evaluation for 4 major public transport interchanges and 3 major civic sports centers which are all scheduled to promote constructions in 2024; construction plan for Nantou County Art Museum whose site selection and feasibility assessment are estimated to be completed in February, 2024; Nangang Industrial Park (南崗工業區) land expansion program promotion, which is estimated to introduce 49 enterprises and increase 2,315 job opportunities; and “Happiness Bus 2.0” rural transportation program to built a more convenient transportation network. The county government’s work of Nantou construction has been in full swing.
