Shoutian Palace was established in the 2nd year of Emperor Chienlung’s Regime in Ching Dynasty (in 1737). It worships the Hsuantian God of the North Pole, which is the center of Taoist religion in Taiwan and whose worshippers are widely spread over Taiwan. Every year from the 12th lunar month to the 3rd lunar month of the following year, all kinds of functions are held in the temple when endless stream of worshippers come over to the palace.
